INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Louisiana Tech will be well represented at the NFL Combine this year as five graduating seniors have been invited to work out at the seven-day event in Indianapolis from Feb. 20-26.
Tech's five NFL Combine invites is more than the total number of invitations that Michigan and Texas received combined.
Punter Ryan Allen, quarterback Colby Cameron, offensive lineman Oscar Johnson, offensive lineman Jordan Mills and wide receiver Quinton Patton all received invitations to attend. The five invitations in one year is believed to be the most Louisiana Tech has ever received in a single year.
Allen became the first punter to ever win back-to-back Ray Guy Awards this past season while Cameron and Patton were semifinalists for national awards. The five players led Louisiana Tech to the nation’s No. 1 offense and No. 1 scoring offense in the country in 2012.
Cameron will be in Columbus, Ohio this weekend as the Touchdown Club of Columbus will officially present him with the 2012 Sammy Baugh Award, an honor given to the nation’s top passer.
On Wednesday new head football coach Skip Holtz announced 21 signees will join the Louisiana Tech program as the Bulldogs powerful offense will reload as it enters Conference USA this fall.
Bulldog fans wanting to claim their season tickets for the 2013 season - the inaugural season in Conference USA and under the direction of new head coach Skip Holtz - can do so by placing a $50 non-refundable deposit down now.
